[2023/10/05 15:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben waves hello to the woodcutter, looking at the remaining signs.
[2023/10/05 15:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: "You broke one of the curses and freed one of the fae! Well done... but there are others yet."

[2023/10/05 15:13] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben considers that response, and the fact she's only at half her mana for today. "Hopefully there will be somewhere we can sleep there as well."
[2023/10/05 15:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: You'll be doing it sooner or later...! You head down the path, and as before, you're not sure when exactly, but quite soon you come to a clearing in a forest, with a house in the middle. There's lights on and shadows moving against the blinds on the windows.

[2023/10/05 15:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: Debben knocks on the door, the door opens and a big brown bear sticks his head out. "I told you! We aren't... wait, you're not the Goldilocks gang. You're the good guys, right?"

[2023/10/05 15:19] Sonja Bikergrrl: The bear nods. "A gang of porridge thieves. You'd better come inside." He stands back, holding the door open.
[2023/10/05 15:19] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Never heard of porridge thieves before," she replies, though heads in when the door is held open, looking around. "Presumably they steal grain."
[2023/10/05 15:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a slightly smaller bear at the table. "No, they steal porridge." And a very small bear beside her, with a bow in her hair. "And then what'll we eat? We'll go hungry! You'll stop them, won't you?"
[2023/10/05 15:21] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Do you know how they've been getting in?"
[2023/10/05 15:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: "They're going to be coming very soon. There's a whole gang of them, but, I'm sure you can deal with them easily."
[2023/10/05 15:23] Alicia Frakture: Leesha lets out a heavy sigh and nods." Sure, but I gotta ask what do you put in your porridge?"
[2023/10/05 15:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Um....." She frowns. "If it's an entire gang, we'll have to prepare the ground to receive them. Tricks, traps, limited approaches."
[2023/10/05 15:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: The mommy bear looks at you with some surprise. "Milk, and either honey or salt!"
[2023/10/05 15:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: The big bear says: "They'll be here in a few minutes, you haven't time. Anyway, they'll probably send a champion to fight you."
[2023/10/05 15:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "A good bag of marbles in the right place might do the trick," she replies, considering. "And why a champion?"
[2023/10/05 15:26] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Isn't that how disagreements get settled?"
[2023/10/05 15:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: You can hear the calls and laughs of a band of goblins getting louder outside.
[2023/10/05 15:28] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods at the additions, before looking out the door
[2023/10/05 15:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "How many entrances to the house do we have to worry about?" Debben asks, glancing out the windows at the approaching goblins.
[2023/10/05 15:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: You can see a handful of goblins, and their leader... you recognize that one! That was one of the goblins that you encountered earlier. "Come out, come out now! And bring your porridge!"
[2023/10/05 15:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's a simple house. One front door, one kitchen, one living room, bedrooms upstairs.
[2023/10/05 15:31] Alicia Frakture: You know you can make your own porridge and leave these folks alone.
[2023/10/05 15:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Bah, what kind of story would that make? Everyone stays home and makes porridge!"
[2023/10/05 15:32] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "You could have competitions for the best porridge," she suggests.
[2023/10/05 15:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Exactly! You come out and fight our champion, winner gets your porridge!"
[2023/10/05 15:33] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "they really seem to want that porridge badly"
[2023/10/05 15:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: Maybe the porridge really is just right.
[2023/10/05 15:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Let's do a three touches duel, then. no need to be lethal about it."
[2023/10/05 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Alright. We bring champion, now!"
[2023/10/05 15:34] Alicia Frakture: Three touches?
[2023/10/05 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: (I'm curious about that too, I'm guessing fist fight)
[2023/10/05 15:36] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( Yeah, or with padded weapons. Like a tourney fight instead of a street brawl ))
[2023/10/05 15:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: 100XP for the idea, I think!
[2023/10/05 15:38] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Yeah. Your champion and our champion with padded weapons. First to land three hits on the other wins."
[2023/10/05 15:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Okay, is agreed! Come out and fight!
[2023/10/05 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins bring out a champion. One holds up his hand, on his palm, a rat.
[2023/10/05 15:39] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps out."You do not want to hurt that rat."
[2023/10/05 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: The lead goblin takes one look at this and slaps the goblin round the back of his head. "Idiot! That's too small!"
[2023/10/05 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins mutter amongst themselves, then step aside, as a -huge- manlike figure, standing easily eight feet tall, looking quite stupid but very muscular, comes striding over. "Hurr hurr, me squish! Squish to goo!"
[2023/10/05 15:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Does that one understand how to spar instead of smash?"
[2023/10/05 15:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: "No no no!" shouts the lead goblin. "That's too big!"
[2023/10/05 15:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins confer again, then look hopeful as a very large-looking and very mean-looking goblin-like creature strides up, with huge tusks and glaring eyes in a piggy face walks up.
[2023/10/05 15:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Yes, yes!" says the lead goblin, "That one is just right!"
[2023/10/05 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: Who's fighting?
[2023/10/05 15:45] Alicia Frakture: Leesha steps forward."So three hits, pull punches and stuff?"
[2023/10/05 15:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: I volunteer Leesha
[2023/10/05 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Hurr hurr," rumbles the hobgoblin (that's what it is), "Me glad nonlethal fight, me got dance class in an hour."
[2023/10/05 15:47] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."Yeah i'm in, but I gotta ask one other thing. If you're so keen on their porridge why not earn it. Go get supplies, good chance for adventure along the way
[2023/10/05 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Pfft, that not make good story! Everyone want adventure, excitement. Now, fight!"
[2023/10/05 15:50] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and steps out off the porch."Don't need to risk damage to the house."
[2023/10/05 15:50] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben keeps back out of the arena. On one hand, she might be able to use a spell to help Leesha out, but that would also be fairly obvious cheating if caught.
[2023/10/05 15:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: let the battle of d20s begin!
[2023/10/05 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: (On the other other hand... something clearly very strange is going on, not just here but everywhere since the mushroom circles)

[2023/10/05 15:52] Sonja Bikergrrl: Two swings from each... both miss. The bears and the goblins shout encouragement from their sides.

[2023/10/05 15:53] Sonja Bikergrrl: Another two wild swings... no hits! More shouts of encouragement.
[2023/10/05 15:54] Sonja Bikergrrl: a miss from Leesha... and a near hit! "Hurr hurr, me nearly got you!"
[2023/10/05 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: the dice gods are being ironic... Leesha and the hobgoblin thump each other. The bears and goblins jump up and down, shouting loudly

[2023/10/05 15:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben thumbs her spearbutt against the ground and watches this hobgoblin for flaws in his technique
[2023/10/05 15:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: Ooooh... Leesha misses, but the hobgoblin lands a good hit! The goblins go wild, jumping up and down and cheering, while the bears look anxious
[2023/10/05 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Leesha one, hobgoblin two.
[2023/10/05 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Two more wild swings... no hits
[2023/10/05 15:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Come on. You can do this Leesha! You're craftier than he is!"
[2023/10/05 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: /me actually winces... Leesha hits the hobgoblin, who also hits Leesha... two to Leesha, three to hobgoblin. The goblins go wild, jumping up and down and cheering, while the bears look dejected.

[2023/10/05 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: The dice gods have decided.
[2023/10/05 16:00] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head as she steps back."Good game."
[2023/10/05 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Is good fight. Too bad you lose, but thems the breaks." The hobgoblin goes back to the goblins, who are whooping and high-fiving
[2023/10/05 16:03] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben sighs, pondering what to do now that they've lost.
[2023/10/05 16:03] Alicia Frakture: /me leesha shrugs."Yep, those are the breaks."
[2023/10/05 16:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: Indeed, what now. The goblins look expectant for porridge, and the bears look very sad. "Mommy! What are we going to eat?"
[2023/10/05 16:05] Alicia Frakture: Leesha begins looking through her pack
[2023/10/05 16:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Now, goblins. Keep in mind that this family of bears still needs to eat too. It would be unfair to take too much from them."
[2023/10/05 16:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: "We can't take too little," says one goblin. "But we won't take too much," says another goblin. "We'll just take enough!" says the leader.
[2023/10/05 16:07] Alicia Frakture: Hold on, I have an idea."Leesha looks at the bears." may I get a taste of your porridge? I have an idea."
[2023/10/05 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: (...this I GOT to hear...)
[2023/10/05 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: The mommy bear brings out her half-eaten bowl of porridge.
[2023/10/05 16:09] Alicia Frakture: Leesha takes a small taste and smiles."Delicious, but I still think I can make this idea work. May i work on whatever you have left in the pot?
[2023/10/05 16:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins and the bears watch this with some bemusement

[2023/10/05 16:11] Alicia Frakture: Leesha heads in and begins to work chopping up the bacon she has and mixing in some of sliced up apples and cheese from her pack, mixing it into the porridge."Can i see that honey?"
[2023/10/05 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mommy bear passes over the honey.
[2023/10/05 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Using a secondary skill!)
[2023/10/05 16:13] Alicia Frakture: /me drizzles in the honey making sure the cheese doesn't over power the taste of the honey, before taking a spoonful to Mommy Bear for tasting.. It's a balance of sweet and savory and it increases the amount of food so all involved ca eat.
[2023/10/05 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: Mommy bear takes a cautious taste, then her eyes widen like saucers. "MMMMM!"
[2023/10/05 16:17] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks to Goblin Locks."So here is my proposition for both sides. I give the recipe to the bears. since it is more than porridge and honey there are more ingredients to get. You want adventure? see how to find some while collecting the ingredients. On the flip side, the bears make enough to share and everyone wins. No more fighting or problems."

[2023/10/05 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblins and the bears are all very exstatic at this, and the goblin leader nods and nods. "You very clever! And..." *POOF* the goblin disappears, replaced by a tiny flying pixie "...you broke my curse!"

He was after the magic book that gives access to our realm, but one of us hid the book from him. You'll have to defeat him to free our Queen... and we'll all be very grateful!"
